Rachel Blundon, CANP, AOLCP, MSW
2nd Generation Owner

Rachel took over the family business as a 2nd generation owner after working in every area of the Family Business over the last 20 years. She graduated from Clark University with BS degrees in communications and psychology. Rachel also received her MS From UCONN in Social Work, with a concentration in Horticultural Therapy. She has earned accreditation from the Connecticut Nursery and Landscape Association and as a Certified Organic Land Care Professional. Rachel is passionate about the healing power of Nature & Gardening. Through her formal Horticultural Therapy training and her gardening experience, she has learned how to bring this concept into our clients’ gardens as well as our garden center.

Jay Trottier
General Manager

Jay joined the Madison Earth Care team in 2016. Jay graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in ornamental horticulture and design. He is a NOFA Accredited Organic Land Care Professional. Jay has over 18 years’ experience in landscape design, construction, and property maintenance. He has spent the majority of his career focused on providing personalized landscape services for Connecticut’s most distinguished landscapes. He looks forward to working with you to complete the vision you have for your landscape.

Abby Blundon
Administrative Director – MBA, CANP

Abby graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelors degree in Marketing and Advertising and a Masters degree in Business Administration. She is also certified as a Connecticut Accredited Nursery Professional. Abby is also Rachel’s sister and has worked at the family business, in nearly every position, over the last 15 years and runs the administrative and office side of Madison Earth Care.

Spence Quintin
Production Managers and Landscape Supervisor

Spencer started working at Madison Earth Care in 2017. He began his career in the landscaping business in 1982 and never looked back. Along with running his own business for 20+ years, Spencer also worked in lead roles in establishing other small businesses in the area. At Madison Earth Care he performs all aspects of landscape installation and maintenance including construction and masonry. Spencer has also piloted an in house safety initiative program here at MECS to maintain our high standards of quality and safety in the field for all of our employees.

Carol Tichy
Office Manager

Carol has worked as the Office Manager at Madison Earth Care since 2002, despite it being her retirement job. In the past, she lived many lives, including those of a school teacher and a corporate employee. Carol graduated from Connecticut State College with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and a Minor in Spanish.

Accountant

Katie joined Madison Earth Care in 2021. She graduated from St. John Fisher College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Taylor Higgins
Administrative Support

Having grown up in Madison, her first job was helping out her Aunt Carol in the office at MEC and she loved the work environment. After some time away, she realized she wanted a job that truly made her happy; one that she could look forward to every day, so she returned to Madison Earth Care in 2019. She enjoys the opportunity to learn more and more about landscaping every day!

James Randall, BA, BAGD, CANP
Fine Gardening Manager

James is a seasoned horticulturist with a passion for fine gardening and garden design. James graduated with distinction from the British Academy of Garden Design and is also a Connecticut Accredited Nursery Professional. He gained invaluable experience as a gardener maintaining the breathtaking English gardens of Hampton Court Palace and contributed to the completion of the new sunken garden at Kensington Palace.

Robert Belli
Landscape Sales Team

While Robert started working for Madison Earth Care in 2018, he brings over 30 years of landscaping experience with him, ranging from Sales and Production Management to Personnel Training and Quality Control. Robert looks forward to working with you to deliver the utmost quality and providing the highest level of customer service imaginable. From the initial estimates to overseeing final installations, Robert’s eye for detail and easy going manner bring every aspect of a project together seamlessly.

Tom Craig
Landscape Sales Team

Specializing in Landscape Design, Tom has over 10 years of experience and training in the Landscaping industry. Tom graduated from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) with a B.S in Environmental Design & Sustainable Development. He has also received certification as a Connecticut Accredited Nursery Professional. He has a passion for plants and truly enjoys working with customers to make their visions come to life within the landscape.

Matt Winschel
Fine Garden Design, Ecological Landscapes, Plantsman

Matt has worked in many disciplines of the horticulture trade, from fine garden design and maintenance to plant breeding and habitat restoration. Matt's true passion is to create and manage landscapes for people, plants and wildlife. With a strong background in ecological horticulture, he works with existing plant communities and their relationships to the environment, creating beautiful gardens into healthy, functioning ecosystems.

Landscape Design & Sales

With over 25 years of landscape construction expertise, 10 of which running his own company, Luke brings passion, knowledge and vision to every aspect here at Madison Earth Care. He prides himself in working with clients to create designs with practical and cost effective solutions as well as meeting aspirations and dreams to beautify their landscapes. Luke looks forward to meeting with you to turn the vision into reality.
