Earth Day Celebration
April 21, 2018 - April 22, 2018
This year, for our Earth Day Celebration, we will be open on Saturday (9-6) and Sunday (10-4)! During those hours we will have a variety of different activities going on including and local market, food trucks, kids activities, sales, giveaways and raffles!
Saturday April 21st
9 am – 6 pm:
Store sales: Enjoy a variety of sales throughout the weekend, including 10% off Melissa and Doug items, statuary, tools and more, as well as $2 off/yard on all bulk material, and a Garden Tag sale with assorted items at a heavy discount.
Plant Contest: Identify 10 staff selected (but unlabeled) plants around the grounds correctly to be entered to win a $50 gift card to Madison Earth Care.
Giveaways: The first 100 purchases will receive a free cookie made by Pursuit of Pastry specifically for Madison Earth Care. Make a purchase over $100? We’ll also throw in a free Madison Earth Care cotton bag. And keep an eye out for other goodies you might find in your shopping bag after checkout!
Kids Scavenger Hunt: Follow the clues to this kids scavenger hunt throughout the grounds and get a small prize at the end!
Adult Scavenger Hunt: Visit vendors and check off different events on your bingo card to be entered to win a $50 gift card.
Raffle: Starting at 11am on Saturday, buy your raffle tickets to support the Madison Land Conservation Trust! Raffle items will be an assortment of prizes provided by both Madison Earth Care and the many vendors who are joining us this weekend!

Madison Land Conservation Trust: Providing information regarding the conservation of the natural resources of the Town of Madison
Mandala Art by Deb: Selling mandala artwork on mediums such as canvases, plates, and rocks
Martha’s Favorites: Selling felted hats, scarves and accessories, knitted items, hand painted tee and sweatshirts, lavender sachets and eye pillows, decorative soaps, succulent gardens
Nutmeg Naturals: Selling cold pressed soaps, felted soap, wool dryer balls, natural glass cleaners, laundry soap, essential oils
Olivia Ethnics: Selling handmade Indian handicrafts, including wall hangings, table runners and wood carved items
On Site Landscapes: Selling birdhouses and hand painted artwork
Original Art by Lisa Helene: Selling original acrylic paintings, prints, notecards and wood signs
Rahu Deva: Selling handmade all natural body products, including assorted soaps, body scrubs, lip balms, lotion, deodorant and body sprays
Sankow’s Beaver Brook Farm: Selling farm to table prepared foods, fresh lamb & chicken meat, assortment of sheeps wool products including socks, capes, etc
The Roxy Grace Company: Selling all natural bath and beauty products for young girls

Tattoos: International tattoo artist Xoil will be joining us at our Earth Day Celebration with a set of Botanically themed flash designs available for tattoo. Tattoos will be done by hand, no machines. We will not be booking appointments, first come first served starting at 11 a.m. Saturday. 15% of all proceeds will be going directly to The Madison Land Trust. Check out Xoil on Facebook and Instagram and come get a new tattoo of your own while supporting local land conservancy.
Bath Bomb Station: Join The Roxy Grace Company at their Kids Bath bomb station to make your very own fizzy bath goodie!
Hayrides: Who doesn’t love a hayride? Pile in and enjoy a tractor drawn hayride with the Family.
Live Music: Enjoy music by Frank Critelli. Frank will be singing songs in a street-performer style, which creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Face Painting: Get your face painted with a variety of different fun options, such as flowers, butterflies and birds.
Kids Craft Corner: Let your inner artist out at our kids craft corner! Paint your own flower pot or create a kindness rock to place around town!
Petting Zoo: Get your animal fix this weekend by visiting our miniature horse and goats
1 pm – 1:30 pm:
Spring Tonic Demo by Taylor: Join our in house herbalist Taylor Lee Lavenu Gendron as she demonstrates making a variation on Herbalist, Author and M.D Aviva Romms Herbal Iron Tonic Syrup. This plant based tonic will help to boost your iron and replenish depleted reserves, wonderful for woman and men of all ages especially those who are pregnant and nursing. The tonic syrup contains Dandelion, Burdock, Nettles and Blackstrap Molasses and is simple to make at home from either foraged or purchased herbs.
1 pm – 3 pm:
Beer Sampling: Stop by the North Madison Wine & Spirits table, where they will be pouring Craft Connecticut Beers to sample!
5 pm – 6 pm:
Garden Yoga: Shake off any residual winter vibes with this relaxing and renewing yoga class lead by Debi Testa of Debi Testa Yoga! This class is offered free of charge as part of our Earth Day Celebration, however, space is limited and we do recommend reserving your spot. Please contact us to do so.
