Rachel Blundon: 2nd Generation Owner – CANP, AOLCP, MSW
Rachel graduated from Clark University with BS degrees in communications and psychology. She also received her MS From UCONN in Social Work, with a concentration in Horticultural Therapy. She has earned accreditation from the Connecticut Nursery and Landscape Association and as a Certified Organic Land Care Professional. Rachel is working to receive her certificate in Horticultural Therapy from the New York Botanical Gardens.
Rachel is passionate about the healing/relaxing power of Nature & Gardening. Through her formal Horticultural Therapy training and her gardening experience, she has learned how to bring this concept into our clients’ gardens as well as our garden center.
After working in every area of the Family Business for most of her life, Rachel made the transition to 2nd Generation owner. She is excited to continue to work with Madison Earth Care customers that have known her parents and to get to know new customers as well! Rachel loves spending her time off hanging out and working in her own gardens with her dog, Taco.

Jay Trottier: General Manager
Jay joined the Madison Earth Care team in 2016. Jay graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in ornamental horticulture and design. He is a NOFA Accredited Organic Land Care Professional. Jay has over 15 years experience in landscape design, construction, and property maintenance. He has spent the majority of his career focused on providing personalized landscape services for Connecticut’s most distinguished landscapes. He now looks forward to working with you to complete the vision you have for your landscape.

Melissa Blundon: Garden Designer & Senior Manager – CANP, AOLCP
Melissa has been a partner in Madison Earth Care Services since marrying Bob in 1983 and has over 20 years of experience in garden design and garden maintenance. She earned her Landscape Design Consultant Certificate with the Federated Garden Club and is also a Connecticut Accredited Nursery Professional and an Accredited Organic Land Care Professional.
Melissa specializes in perennials, but has a wide knowledge of a wide variety of plants. She enjoys creating beautiful and meaningful gardens for her customers and working one-on-one with each customer, to design the garden of their dreams.

Abby Blundon: Administrative Director – MBA, CANP
Abby graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelors degree in Marketing and Advertising and a Masters degree in Business Administration. She is also certified as a Connecticut Accredited Nursery Professional. She has worked at the family business, in nearly every position, over the last 10 years and, after a short time away has returned full time to Madison Earth Care.
Abby is the youngest daughter of Bob and Melissa and lives in Madison with her rescue pup, Kaia, who you’ll often find hanging around and office, too. She is quickly catching the family green bug and learning different gardening and landscaping tips and tricks at every opportunity!

Carol Tichy: Business and Office Manager
Carol has worked as the Office Manager at Madison Earth Care since 2002, despite it being her retirement job. In the past she lived many lives, including those of a school teacher and a corporate employee. Carol graduated from Connecticut State College with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and a Minor in Spanish.

Gisella Weissbach-Licht: Garden Services Manager, CANP, AOLCP, UCONN MG
Gisella began working at Madison Earth Care in 2015. She has a Master’s Degree in Education, is a CT Master Gardener, accredited by the Connecticut Nursery and Landscape Association, and certified by NOFA in Organic Land Care. Under her leadership the Garden Services Crew deadheads, prunes, weeds and provides a wide variety of garden maintenance services, including garden sitting. She is especially passionate about caring for roses. Gisella and her team create stunning containers for all seasons utilizing annuals, perennials and even small trees. She designs a wide variety of indoor and outdoor holiday decorations for Madison Earth Care clients.
Gisella has lived with her husband Jakob in Branford since 1979. Their children have long left the nest. Their current “children” are two spirited Rosemanor terriers, Soraya and Moritz.

Taylor Lavenu Gendron: Garden Center Manager
Taylor started working in the garden center at Madison Earth Care in 2017. She is responsible for all of the day to day operations of the garden center and gift shop and provides support to our landscaping crews through plant inventory and bulk supply management. Taylor works to have a thoughtfully curated and unique selection of gifts and home goods available in our shop along with sourcing locally grown and unusual perennials and annuals for your gardens. Taylor also teaches various classes on herbal medicine here at the garden center and throughout southeastern CT and leads walks and workshops on using invasive and non native plants as food and medicine.

Robert Belli: Landscape Sales
Robert started working for Madison Earth Care in 2018. He has a true passion for nature and the environment and brings over 30 years of landscaping experience ranging from Sales and Production Management to Personnel Training and Quality Control. Robert looks forward to working with you to deliver the utmost quality and providing the highest level of customer service imaginable. From the initial estimates to overseeing final installations, Robert’s eye for detail and easy going manner bring every aspect of a project together seamlessly.
Robert enjoys spending his spare time with his family and dog outdoors and tending to his annual flower garden.

Isai Flores-Romero: Landscape Supervisor
Isai has been working at Madison Earth Care since 2009. He works in all aspects of the landscaping business but he specializes in Mowing and maintaining immaculate lawns for our clients. He also oversees our crews in Spring and Fall Cleanups and brings his attention to detail to every home.
In his spare time Isai likes to spend time with his family, listen to music and keep his own yard expertly maintained.
Teofilo (Filo) Cabrera: Landscape Supervisor
Teofilo has been working at Madison Earth Care since 2002. Along with mowing and Spring clean ups Filo also provides skilled maintenance on our low emissions, propane powered machines to ensure that everything operates safely and smoothly. He enjoys passing on Madison Earth Cares commitment to quality workmanship by training new and seasonal employees with his immense patience and ever present smile.
You can find Filo fishing on his days off.
Jesse Davis: Landscape Supervisor
Jesse has been with Madison Earth Care since 2009. He works, start to finish, in all aspects of landscape plant installations. He oversees site work before planting including grading, drainage and design and build services. He specializes in large tree and shrub installation and transplanting. Jesse is a highly skilled pruner, working precisely to bring out the beauty and maintain the shape of fruiting, ornamental and structural plantings.
Jesse loves to read, is always learning, likes listening to music and being outside.
Manuel De Santiago: Landscape Supervisor
Manuel started working at Madison Earth Care in 2002. He works with mowing crews, ensuring that our clients lawns stay in pristine condition throughout the season. Manuel is well versed at plant installation, site demolition and masonry projects.
On his days off Manuel likes going on walks, reading and relaxing watching television.
Frank Campos: Landscape Supervisor
Frank started with Madison Earth Care in 1998. He has worked in all areas of the business and has grown in his skills, quality and attention to detail along with the company. Frank now oversees crews during Spring and Fall Clean- ups, garden maintenance and landscape construction.
Frank enjoys spending time with his family and enjoying good movies together on his time off.
José Zacarias: Landscape Supervisor
Jose has been at Madison Earth Care since 2002. His versatility allows him to work in many different areas of daily operations. Jose works on projects focusing on all areas of landscape installation and maintenance; from planting and edging new garden beds to pruning and mowing to demolition and site work.
Jose like watching movies, cooking and listening to music during his time off.
Spencer ( Spence ) Quintin: Landscape Supervisor
Spencer started working at Madison Earth Care in 2017. He began his career in the landscaping business in 1982 and never looked back. Along with running his own business for 20+ years, Spencer also worked in lead roles in establishing other small businesses in the area. At Madison Earth Care he performs all aspects of landscape installation and maintenance including construction and masonry. Spencer has also piloted an in house safety initiative program here at MECS to maintain our high standards of quality and safety in the field for all of our employees.
Spencer and his wife Kelly have five children. In his downtime his hobbies include the three C’s; Cooking, Camping and Cornhole.
David Quintin: Landscape Supervisor
David started working at Madison Earth Care in 2018. He has worked in the industry for his entire career, beginning with working for a family owned landscaping business. He moves through all aspects of the business here at MECS from mowing to planting and pruning and specializes in masonry and landscape construction.
In his spare time, David enjoys working around the house taking care of odds and ends and taking walks in the woods.
Bob Blundon: Founder – Retired
Bob Blundon, a Madison resident for over 50 years, founded Madison Earth Care Services when he was just 19 years old. After 46 years, he has officially handed over the reins (and his years of accumulated landscaping knowledge) to his daughter, Rachel.
While Bob will continue to reside in Madison, where he will spend his free time taking care of his two favorite green things, his John Deere tractor collection and pristine lawn, he is also looking forward to spending more time on a beach with his toes in the sand.
